The machine is amazing, I will be honest I work in the medical field, I worked as nurse assistant, phlebotomy in a lab, medical coder, etc. I am happy with this product, and would highly recommend it. The next time the water gets shut off, or there's a boil water advisory, I'm good to go. This should save on money for bottled water and save on plastic use. Some are even surprised that such a device exists. So power consumption is relatively low.Įverybody that I've told about this is impressed with the taste of the water it produces. I bought a few pitchers that I fill up and put in my fridge. I also don't use the heater or even the cooler. Given that I'm in a ~40% relative humidity area, the unit should produce about 13 liters per day, which is plenty for a family of 4. Since I'm reducing the units runtime, I'm going to try to extend that to 12 months. The usual maintenance window for changing filters is about 6-9 months. I have a Wemo plug, and have it programmed to turn the unit off during peak times, to save a bit of money. I have solar and am on a Time of Use (ToU) power plan, so I have to pay extra during peak times. I missed the part about installing the filter element in the Reverse Osmosis filter initially, but I added that after watching the video and all is well.

I have the peace of mind that I have a dependable and practical addition to my home, that will provide for my family in everyday use, and when needed in an emergency. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the NUBE, and impressed with the build quality and performance. There is no manual or instruction book, but the videos are adequate and customer service responds almost instantaneously answers to any technical or service questions. Production speed and volume increased noticeably when a rainstorm rolled through the area. The production capacity appears to be about 2 gallons/day, which is in line with what the Innovaqua website estimates for low humidity areas. In the standby mode it uses only a few watts of power, mainly for the chiller. The unit goes into a standby mode when full, until water circulation or other functions are needed. It takes approximately an hour to refill both tanks to full, after drawing a coffee pot's worth of water. The hot water element uses over 1000 watts, and heats the water 180-200 F. The chilling element only uses 2-4 watts to keep the water at 45 F. While producing and filtering water, the NUBE used between 400 Watts and 450 Watts of power. This was with light use of the produced water, and periodically turning the unit off. It took about a week for the NUBE to completely fill both tanks.
I was concerned that the NUBE would not work efficiently in my low humidity environment. After installing, I attached a digital power meter in the electrical line to monitor the amount of electricity used in the different modes and cycles of the NUBE. The NUBE is a solid appliance of metal and composite construction, and high quality internal components. Set up was easy using the recommended Youtube video. The box was heavily reinforced and strapped, and showed no transit damage or evidence that it was placed on it's side. When the package arrived by international express, I was impressed by the quality and care in packing, and care taken in shipping. Time from order to delivery was eleven weeks, due to hurricane, supply chain, and COVID delays. I wanted to wait to leave a review until I had a chance to evaluate issues brought up in other reviews I read. I have been using my Nube for approx 3 weeks. I purchased my Nube to supplement my home drinking water, and to have an independent drinking water source in the event of water outages or crisis. We are currently experiencing a record drought. I live in the southwest desert area of the USA, with summer humidity usually in the 25-30% range.
